The People Have the Power

November 02, 2004 — Election day has finally arrived and I couldn't be more excited. If I could manage it, I would set up multiple TVs in my apartment and project the internet on the wall so I can watch all the coverage at once.

If you haven't done so already, make sure you get out there and vote and let your voice be heard.

The power to dream / to rule
to wrestle the world from fools
it's decreed the people rule
it's decreed the people rule
LISTEN
I believe everything we dream
can come to pass through our union
we can turn the world around
we can turn the earth's revolution
we have the power
People have the power ...

Part of a Special Moment

November 15, 2004 — Pictures from my weekend in San Francisco for Emily's quitting her job party.

Pain in the Neck

November 16, 2004 — So I woke up this morning with this pain in my neck. I thought, "Huh. Must have slept on it funny." But, in reality, it's not funny at all. It hurts.

Put yourself in my shoes

November 22, 2004 — If I had it my way, I wouldn't wear shoes. Ever. I'm most comfortable when my feet are bare. And as some people have noticed, I take my shoes off whenever I can.

Due to social and safety constraints, it is sometimes necessary to wear appropriate footwear. When I have to wear something on my feet, I prefer to wear footwear that lets my feet breathe and is easy to get on. My ideal shoe is one I can put on without having to sit down. And if I don't need to balance myself against a wall, that's even better.

The summer is easy. Sandals are easy to get on, let my feet breathe, and keep me safe. Some people wear sandals that have crazy straps and laces. I don't see the point of that. You need ones that just slip on and off. That's what I have.

The winter and formal occasions have been an ongoing problem. Not anymore. I now have brown and black versions of the kind of shoes that slip on. Thanks to a little elastic, these ingenious shoes let you slip them on with no laces, no velcro, and no straps. They expand to get your foot in and they contract to comfortably and securely fit on your feet. It's amazing.

Even sneakers used to be an issue. Not anymore. I just got a pair of casual shoes that work the same way. It's amazing. I wouldn't exactly go running in them, but they're good enough for most things.

I used to have slippers which, as you might imagine, I could slip into. But they had a back. I had to angle my feel into the front and then get the back around the back of my feet. Not anymore. Now I have slippers that don't even have a back. They're even easier!

November Pictures

November 28, 2004 — Thanks to getting stuck at the airport for four hours, I've been able to post some recent pictures from the month of November. Highlights include weekend in Chicago, NoR2, and Thanksgiving.

How was your Thanksgiving?

November 29, 2004 — It's 9:48 am and I've already had "the conversation" at least 9 times. I expect to have it atleast another 13 times before the day is done. In the event you read this site before you see me, I would like to save us some time.

I'm good, how are you? It was good. I went home to New York, where my family lives. No, not the city, the suburbs. It's a place called Rockland County, it's kinda northwest of the city. Yeah, a lot of people haven't really heard of it. Have you heard of Westchester? Yeah, it's on the other side of the Hudson River from there. Sure, not too far from New Jersey. I flew into Newark. About 45 minutes away. Yeah, it was a little cold. Not too bad. No, there wasn't snow. You're right, those airports sure were busy. Delayed for a few hours, not too bad. Well, I missed my connection but I got put on a later flight. No, it really wasn't that bad. Exactly, got some food, read a little, played on my laptop. Yup, it was definitely relaxing. Yeah, we sure are back at work. I know what you mean, back to the grind. And how was your Thanksgiving? Oh, where's that? That's interesting. How was the weather? Oh, wow. Any travel problems? You're lucky. Well, I gotta run now. I need to have this same conversation with the next guy who's waiting to talk to me. Take it easy.
