February 2005 Archives If I were a completely different person...February 13, 2005 — Mike, Mike, and John came out the Madison last weekend and here are some pictures.  February 13, 2005 — I finally checked out this whole RSS thing and it's pretty cool. So I've created an RSS feed for this site. You can access it at: http://www.smandel.com/index.xml. I created a new single article view and modified my program so it generates the XML when I made updates. It seems to be working OK but it's certainly possible that I screwed it up or didn't follow some type of etiquette or something. Let me know if you run into any problems or if I didn't do something right. Enjoy. Geek Talk: Animated GIFsFebruary 14, 2005 — Every now and then I think of something completely random that just cracks me up. While there might not be anything inherently funny about it, I just find myself laughing for no particular reason. That's pretty much how I feel about animated GIFs. It was back in high shool when I discovered the thrill of making an animation or "virtual flip book" by combining multiple image files. You can see my animated piano at the old Billy Joel site. Even better is my animated (Asian) Ram which amazingly is still on the current home of The Ram's Horn, my high school newspaper. Sometimes when I take a series of pictures in a row I wonder what it would look like if they were animated. I tried this with some recent photos and for some reason I'm highly amused by this.
